Eyedaptic unveils EYE6 with Ivy, an AI-powered visual assistant for patients diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration and other retinal disorders
According to the company, the wearable smart glasses with both vision enhancement and assistance will be introduced at the American Retina Forum National Meeting Eyedaptic unveiled its latest breakthrough, the EYE6 with Ivy, a wearable vision aid that both enhances vision and provides an artificial intelligence (AI) powered visual assistant. According to a news release, the company’s EYE6 has a range of features, including Ivy, an interactive visual assistant to help and empower individuals with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other retinal disorders that cause vision loss.1 The company noted its EYE6 with Ivy will be introduced at the American Retina Forum National Meeting, taking place on August 7, 2024, in Carlsbad, California. More than 250 million people globally are affected by retinal diseases that cause vision loss. The EYE6 with Ivy leverages advanced multimodal generative AI (GenAI) and large language models (LLMs) to visualize and interpret real-time information for users, helping to improve their daily living experiences and independence.1 According to the news release, the Ivy Visual Assistant can read text, describe a room, locate objects, and help users with other daily tasks and activities that otherwise may not have been possible due to their vision loss. Eyedaptic to unveil new AI-powered EYE6 smart glasses
Eyedaptic has announced the unveiling of its new smart glasses that harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) in order to visually assist those with age-related macular degeneration and other retinal disorders that cause vision loss.
EYE6, which is coupled with Eyedaptic’s interactive visual assistant named Ivy, will be introduced at the American Retina Forum National Meeting on August 7 in Carlsbad, California, according to a news release.

According to the company, EYE6 is the only wearable vision aid that both enhances vision and provides an AI-powered visual assistant on the commercial market. The glasses use multimodal generative AI (GenAI) and large language models in order to visualize and interpret real-time information for its users, with Ivy able to read text, describe a room, locate objects, and assist its users in daily tasks.
The virtual assistant is also fluent in 99 languages and has the ability to adapt to different environments.
EYE6 is succeeded by EYE5, which is equipped with AutoZoom Mode for viewing text, facial detection, contrast enhancement controls, and a 2-in-1 wearable and handheld magnifier. The EYE5 glasses are also equipped with EyeSwitch, which optimizes the user’s functional peripheral vision.
The EYE5 can be upgradeable to EYE6, which adds on the benefits of Ivy, with a monthly subscription. EYE6 also includes the same vision-enhancing features of the EYE5, with full high-definition 1080p resolution micro displays.
